This showcase will explore the use of blockchain technology as a solution for pharmaceutical supply chain management to comply with forthcoming regulation from the FDA’s Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA).
Katie Crenshaw, Senior Manager, Informatics at HIMSS
Katie Crenshaw serves as a Senior Manager of Informatics under the HIMSS office of Technology and Innovation. In her current role, Katie focuses on the content areas of interoperability, standards, and emerging technologies, such as blockchain technology with the aim of furthering meaningful health information exchange. She works closely with the HIMSS member community to provide education, resources, best practices, and policy responses on these topics. Prior to joining HIMSS, Katie worked on adoption and implementation efforts at a regional health information exchange (HIE) organization in Philadelphia, helping providers and hospitals connect their electronic health records and developing education and policy materials to showcase the value proposition of data sharing across these systems. Her experience also includes years in policy and advocacy roles in state government and non-profit environments. Katie has her Master of Public Administration from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia.
